Marie Bowman started this woman-owned business in 1976, building Fire Safety Industries from the ground up to become one of the most dedicated and respected local fire protection companies in New Mexico.
To accommodate growing service routes, FSI established a freestanding 3,000+ square foot facility in Albuquerque, housing offices, a warehouse, and a dedicated dry chemical service shop to support local businesses.
FSI officially became a factory-authorized Amerex distributor, building a partnership that has lasted for over 25 years. This allowed us to provide industry-leading commercial kitchen hood wet/dry suppression systems and top-tier portable extinguishers state-wide.
By 2018, the company had established a broad repeat customer footprint of over 4,000+ commercial, industrial, and municipal locations across the state of New Mexico, supported by a growing team of certified service technicians.
Jon Chavez took over management of Fire Safety Industries. Under Jon's leadership, FSI has integrated modern compliance tracking, hands-on fire safety training courses, and expanded mobile testing routes, continuing FSI's legacy as New Mexico's premier compliance partner.
